You must not write a read-only attribute.

What could be the reason for this kind of message: “You must not write a read-only attribute.”

Its said when i try to change or save any of the work packages.

Actually this issue happens when setting: “Calculate the work package done ratio with” is set to : “use work package status” and status % are set on the status area, then user cannot do anything with a work package. So this issue can also be concidered as a bug of the version: OpenProject 5.0.7

I get same error message in version: OpenProject 5.0.8

thanks for reporting this issue.
I could not reproduce this error in the current OpenProject version (5.0.15).

Can you provide additional details on how to reproduce this error? Does the error occur for all users and in all projects?
I changed the setting to “Calculate the work package done ratio with: Use work package status” and assigned % done to work package status but could still update work packages without error.

Yes, its probably because of the version difference, we will install the same version and lets see what happens then.

Hi Robin,

I’m using OpenProject 5.0.18 (Mysql2) and have the same issue.

1. I create new user story
2. then create two task in this story
3. after that i want to update the description of story but issue happen

Hi Minh,

thanks for the description.
I tried to reproduce it but the error didn’t show.

In the new OpenProject version (5.1) there is however a similar bug when updating the status and the status determines the progress: #23279.

Is your Progress (%) determined by the status? (can be configured in “Administration” > “System Settings” > tab “Work package tracking” > “Calculate the work package done ratio with”.
If you change the value to “Use the work package field” does the error still occur?

Hi Robin,

I tried to switch this option to “Use the work package field” or “Use the work package status” and the issue always happen.

I just updated Core version OpenProject 5.0.19 (Mysql2) and still have issue.

I attached the data if it can help your team.

Hi.

I have the same issue. I think it is a bug since by updating progress field in children of a given work package, the status field of this latter work package cannot be updated showing the message above mentioned. I am not using “Use the work package status” setting.

My OP version is 5.0.16 on MySQL 5.x.
