Install OP 7.4.7 using AWS RDS MySQL 5.7.2

Added by Andy Zhao almost 7 years ago

I am installing OpenProject 7.4.7 with the Suse Linux Enterprise Server 12 installer on an AWS EC2 SUES SLES 12 Server instance. I want to use an existing MySQL that is an AWS RDS instance, openproject.123456789.us-east-2.rds.amazonaws.com, which can be connected through Workbench. During configuration, I used the above endpoint as "Hostname", then the installer asked me for "FQDN", which I don't know. I tried different combinations using the RDS endpoint, but the connections failed each time. Does anyone have any idea what to do in this type of configuration? Why can't OP just do what Workbench does with the endpoint in the connection? Thanks,
