Install of OpenProject kill all my Databases

Added by Deleted user about 7 years ago

Hello!
I try to install on our Ubuntu 18.04 OpenProject. After the installation was done I run the openproject configure command.

I follow the setup proceeder, and use a own database. After confirm the settings you’re script uninstall my MariaDB and replace it with a blank MySQL installation!

This flush all my databases and now I’m in front of a broken system. It was a ISPConfig3 managed server on Ubuntu 18.04 base with apache2 and MariaDB.

Thanks for this and no warning or hint on this.
You need to add a if statement in you’re script to prohibit this.

Hello,

I’m very sorry for the troubles. That is caused by the package addon for MySQL enforcing the installation of its package when you choose to install a server.

This does not invalidate your point regarding the missing warning, but please note that MariaDB and MySQL cannot be run alongside without special care.

Still, the -y --force-yes flag is absolute horror and must be removed. I’ve created a PR at the packager repository here: https://github.com/pkgr/addon-mysql/pull/3

Best,
Oliver
