Help needed in user management

Hi,
I am a beginner in OpenProject. Recently having installed the openproject docker image on my Ubuntu xenial 16;
We need to use this in our intranet and the users of each project need to be entered by admin.
At present I have seen the option of sending e-mail through the system. I have installed and configured postfix, but
I didn’t configure an email id, because I didnt find how to do it using postfix; only the hostname (fqdn) for my system was
configured. What should I do now to configure my e-mail id also so that I can send and recieve e-mail using openproject.
I dont want to configure an external e-mail and it could be better if I could do without a send/recieve e-mail system
for user management ,ie a user-management system by adding users through openproject by admins without sending e-mails.
