Accounts on local machine

Added by Nuno Marques about 7 years ago

Hi. I created a new install on a local machine and it works. I can connect to it. However, when trying to create an account, it says the username is already taken? Does OpenProject only work with online accounts? The idea is to have this machine running on a local network without internet access (only lan).
Further, how can I limit account creation or manage it.

Hi Nuno,

OpenProject does not require online accounts. You can see the list of taken users through Administration > Users (please set the filter to ‘All’ to see registered users). You likely have registered an account before, but it is not activated.

You can control self-registration of users through the system settings. Please visit https://www.openproject.org/help/system-settings/authentication-settings/ for more information.

Best,
Oliver
