[3.0] AutoStart THIN SERVER on Ubuntu Lucid

I followed the procedure for installing version 3.0, and everything is fine when I boot with the THIN OpenProject user. The problem is when I try to start as a service in / etc / init.d / thin start.

What is the correct method?

Hi Marion,

you should NOT use the build in Thin webserver for production environment. We recommend apache2 or nginx together with phusion passenger. On this wiki page you can find some instructions, for different operating systems, how to setup this stuff.

My proxy server is nginx, which is on another machine. What I need is to start the service “init.d” or “rc.local” on my server.

I start it with:

RAILS_ENV="production" bundle exec thin -e production --servers 2 -c /home/openproject/openproject/ start
