Something went wrong...

Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

Since updating Ubuntu I’m getting this:
“We’re sorry, but something went wrong.”

when I try to log in. The error log suggest MySQL is denying access.

I’ve run openproject reconfigure and this happened:

Hey Andy,

did you install the most recent package from yesterday afternoon (GMT+1) ? We rolled out a new package for 16.04. since the other had issues with dependencies.

Best,
Oliver

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the quick reply!

Reinstalled about 20 minutes ago using apt-get.

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

I’ve reinstalled manually, following this:
https://www.openproject.org/open-source/download/manual-installation-guide/

which appeared to go okay. But I’m still getting the error.

I’m starting to lean in the direction of rolling back the Ubuntu dist upgrade, but I’d rather not if there’s a way to fix OP.

Thanks
Andy

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Oliver Günther over 8 years ago

Hi Andy,

Weird. That issue sounds like you bundled the gems on your old dist version, and after the upgrade, the shared library the RMagick gem was compiled with is gone. But that should be resolved with a reinstall.

I can’t reproduce this issue on 16.04 and I’m almost out of ideas, but here’s one last idea:

Remove the faulty rmagick gem and Re-bundle the packaged installation:

rm -rf /opt/openproject/vendor/bundle/ruby/2.1.0/extensions/x86_64-linux/2.1.0-static/rmagick-*
cd /opt/openproject
openproject run bundle install --deployment

If you want to keep the manual installation (I recommend against it), install without --deployment:

rm -rf /opt/openproject/vendor/bundle/ruby/2.1.0/extensions/x86_64-linux/2.1.0-static/rmagick-*
cd /opt/openproject
bundle install

Best,
Oliver

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for your efforts.

I’m getting: “openproject command not found”

when I run: openproject run bundle install —deployment

Thanks
Andy

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Oliver Günther over 8 years ago

Then you’re not using the packaged installation, use the manual steps below.

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

That gives me:

“Could not locate Gemfile or .bundle/ directory”.

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Oliver Günther over 8 years ago

In the manual installation step, you need to execute the command at the root of your OpenProject installation.

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

Okay, thanks.

I’m now getting the “bundle complete!” message.

Hasn’t fixed the issue though, I’m afraid. I’m still getting the “We’re sorry, but something went wrong.” page instead of login.

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

So… I figured I’d best start from scratch with open project.

Now installing with apt-get gives me this:

OpenProject 6 now requires ImageMagick to be installed, which you can do with apt-get install libmagickwand5, and then re-run openproject configure. This dependency will be added very shortly to the packages so that you won’t need to do it manually later on.

Thanks for the reply, but I’m getting “package has no installation candidate”. Google doesn’t seem to have much of a clue how to get libmagickwand5 installed if apt can’t see it.

Any ideas?

Which specific distribution are you on?

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release: 16.04
Codename: xenial

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Cyril Rohr over 8 years ago

Oh ok, in that case the package should be named libmagickwand-6.q16-2

RE: Something went wrong... - Added by Andy Stevenson over 8 years ago

Ah, okay. Newest version already installed.
