Apache default page after package installation of 5.0

Hello Community,

I just did a fresh install of openproject 5.0 following the “packaged installation guide”
Platform is a virgin Debian Jessie x64 which was installed without GUI via netinstall to keep a small footprint.
As installation was done over the network, it is as up to date as can be.

After the installation of openproject was finished and I called “openproject configure” via console to do the configuration settings, there’s only Apache’s default page, when I call the servers IP via browser.

Any help how to fix this is appreciated.

I have the same problem with my new installation.

The host system is a fresh installed ubuntu 14.04

Hi Arne,

I already filed a bug report for this ….
… which seems not having found that much attetion yet, as it still hasn’t been assigned :P
At least on the Debian flavoured OSes it can be easily reproduced, as you witness it to be the actual behaviour of the installer.

Workaround:

- do a package installation of the core-version as described here: https://packager.io/gh/opf/openproject/install?bid=1500#ubuntu-14-04-openproject

- then do the upgrade as described here: https://www.openproject.org/open-source/packaged-installation/packaged-installation-upgrade-guide/
- (optional) install the needed community plugins —> 4.2.9 core does not have them - in 5.0.1 they already come bundled

In case you do this on a virtual machine I recommend to take a snapshot before upgrading to 5.0.1, to have the opportunity to easily switch back to 4.2.9
Although 5.0.1 is named as “stable” to my opinion it isn’t already mature.
There are some undearing things concerning usability, so you might wish to switch back to 4.2.9 after testing 5.0.1 like I did.

thanks für your replay.

I changed the host system to Debian 8 and did a new packages installation as described here.

https://www.openproject.org/open-source/packaged-installation/packaged-installation-guide/

The result is I got the Version 5.0.3 and everything is running fine.

If I will find any time I will try to do the installation with ubuntu :)

Glad it worked for you.
Last Friday I tried the install the same way on the same OS (Debian 8) and followed the guide you mentioned and ran into the same issue three times.

I’m pretty sure the version installed by the repository was 5.0.1 so maybe this got fixed due to the version change to 5.0.3

Yes I think it is fixed.
Because my previous attempts on ubuntu ran with v5.0.1
After I decided to change the host system to debian, v 5.0.3 was released :-)
