Ubuntu Install MYSQL "Can't find the root password to create the MySQL database"
Added by Brian McCarthy over 9 years ago
I am trying to install using the package method. All steps work but I get “Can’t find the root password to create the MySQL database” when I run “configure” or “re-configure”. There does not appear to be any prompting for this password through out the install. What am I missing?

First of all, create the database which OpenProject will use. (Ex: >mysql -u root -p > create database openproject >\q) Then go to “openproject-ce reconfigure” and chose “Use existing database”. Next to this, you will be ask about mysql credentials and existing database(use the one that you created in the first step) to populate and use it as OpenProject db.
