git error when running openproject-ce configure

Added by David Robinson almost 10 years ago

Is anyone able to help with setting up git on open project? I can’t find any useful information to explain the various bits needed.

Ive setup OP community edition on Debian 7 using the default install method. When I update the software the open project-ce configure option gives me a fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories).

So I tried installing git which made no difference and now I tried configuring various folders as a git repository by running git init. Ive already added the binary by finding its location ‘which git’ and using the open project console added the path. Still made no difference.

What’s also annoying is Ive tried to configure a folder as a git repository for storing source code and that has exactly the same problem. I would look at the docs but doesn’t cover any of this…….
