Issue installing on Ubuntu

Added by Kendell Welch over 10 years ago

Hello,

I am having issues installing OpenProject on an Ubuntu 14.04 server. In fairness, while I was a heavy Linux user years ago, I’m not up to speed, so I might just be doing something stupid.

Initially, I was unable to install using the precompiled package because apt-get could not find the package (yes, I did apt-get update.) So, I went through the manual install procedure and all went well I thought until I tried to connect to the web app. I get a 500 error (“We’re sorry but something went wrong.”)

In the error log for apache2 is says, “[ 2015-03-26 16:05:54.0574 1659/b5dfeb40 age/Hel/Req/CheckoutSession.cpp:252 ]: [Client 1-2] Cannot checkout session because a spawning error occurred. The identifier of the error is dcc0e4c4. Please see earlier logs for details about the error.”

From what I can find, it would seem this has to do with Ruby, which I have reinstalled, but it still does not work. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone can offer.

Thanks in advance!

Hello?

Surely this is a problem someone else has seen. I’m stumped.
