Startup failures on reboot + Plugin installation problems

Hey there,

I have run into a couple problems setting up our openproject server. First, some info on our setup:

As is recommended on https://www.openproject.org/download/packaged-installation/ I’ve used a packaged installation, in this case on a Ubuntu 14.04 Lts. The installation and configuration went fine, however, I’m having trouble to solve the following issues:

1.) Upon reboot of our system, the apache servers fails to start because of some missing configuration. I have to do “openfire reconfigure” and just reconfigure the apache server anew and it will work. Curiously, all the relevant is already pre-entered in the configuration managar dialog, so the information seems to be there. Did anyone else encounter this issue as well?

2.) ruby, bundler etc. are not installed on my system after running the packaged installation. I’ve noticed that there are various binaries in ~/openproject/vendor/, however, none of them are added to the PATH, so I can’t just run Plugin installations as described on this page: https://www.openproject.org/download/install-plugins/

I’ve tried to manually add all the relevant stuff to PATH, but apparently failed at doing so … does anyone know, how to solve this?

Ercan.

To me using packaged installation have a same problem.

You can’t use the packaged installation if you need use Plugins.

I recommend a manual installation. Some adjustments are the only way possible.

thanks for your reply!

I am somewhat surprised that plugins wouldn’t be available when using the recommended installation procedure tbh. Since the software has been running in production for some time now I’d rather not reinstall it manually and import all the data that already exists …

I would appreciate if someone could confirm this.
