Installation problem
Added by Baps McHaps almost 10 years ago
Hi folks,
Been trying to install latest stable build of OP on a new VPS (CentOS with WHM/CPanel) all day. New to this sort of thing, and have hit a stumbling block I can’t get over; I can’t seem to precompile the assets. The following error message appears and compilation fails;
Sprockets::FileNotFound: couldn’t find file ‘jquery’
Found a few things online relating to the dev branch (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26409413/sprocketsfilenotfound-couldnt-find-file-jquery-openproject) but I’m not on the dev branch. Been following the instructions here (https://community.openproject.org/topics/1308) which is on the stable branch, with a couple updates as it seems out of date (passenger version for example, but the packages gives you the correct copy anyway).
Can anyone suggest how to correct this problem? Help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Baps.

Hi Baps,
thanks for your question.
The instructions you mention refer to OpenProject 3.0 and are not valid anymore (current version is OpenProject 4.0).
There are currently two installation options for OpenProject:
There will also be a third installation option via Bitnami fairly soon.
Best,
Robin
Hi Robin,
Can you be a little more specific in what regards “fairly soon”? 1month? 1 week? Just to have an idea, and to know if I should wait. Im trying to install OP in heroku without success.
Thanks in advance,
Duarte
Hey,
Thanks for the response Robin. Did manage to get it working eventually using parts of the dev branch manual installation instructions (npm/bower).
Unfortunately have had to move to another platform as Ruby is just too resource intensive for our vps. Shame, would have preferred OpenProject, but thanks for your help.
Baps.
Hello Duarte,
the version being used for the Bitnami release will most likely be OpenProject 4.0.3 which is scheduled for next week (#17542).
After finalizing and releasing OpenProject 4.0.3 Bitnami will probably release the respective installers fairly soon.
@Baps: Sorry to hear that. :(
Best,
Robin
