Hello,
obviously OpenProject will win the Bitnami monthly contest.
Are you in interexchange with the Bitnami crew, so they will package version 4.0 on/after October 2nd instead of old 3.x? Are you on schedule with 4.0?
Could you publish the steps that are needed to transfer the databases from one OpenProject-Bitnami version to the next - especially for OpenProject?
And i would be glad if you could guide how to move from OpenProject on Linux (production server), to the windows version.

Hello Thomas,

thanks for your questions.
Now it’s official: OpenProject won the Bitnami contest and will be packaged. :) We contacted Bitnami and they will start packaging OpenProject shortly.
They agreed to package the 4.0 version - and not the old 3.0 version.
Unfortunately, there is another delay in releasing 4.0 due to some critical bugs / last minute feature adjustments:
It should be possible to transfer the databases from one OpenProject bitnami version to the next - but we did not yet look into it in detail.

As far as I know, Bitnami does have a working installer for Mac and Windows. They currently test everything with the help of the OpenProject Foundation.

I don’t know nothing about release dates, though.

that’s right: We are currently testing the Windows and Linux installer.
@Tessi: Thanks for the quick answer :)

Bitnami is finalizing the OpenProject virtual machines and cloud images at the moment and will probably release them this week or next week.
When there is a fixed release date, we will announce it via the news.

Hi Robin,
i got the Beta installer from Bitnami a full week ago.
This one was without plugins.
The one you are testing: Are the plugins included?
Will they be included?

Hi Thomas,

yes, we asked Bitnami about the plugins and they added the plugins to the test installer we have (except for the Cost Reports plugin).
This namely includes the following plugins:

  • Backlogs
  • Costs
  • Documents
  • Global Roles
  • Help Link
  • Meeting
  • My Project Page
  • PDF export
  • Translations
