No default work package status?

Added by Brad Smith over 10 years ago

We had a problem where whenever we tried to create a new work package, it would produce an error saying that the work package status had to be set, but the related field in the form was just a “-”, with no option to change it.

We solved the problem by going to Admin->Work Package Statuses, selecting New, and checking the ‘default value’ property. Now when you create a new work package, the status field is set to ‘New’. There is still no option to change it, but at least it avoids the error.

My question is: is this the expected behavior, or is it possible that something went wrong during my install? This isn’t the first time when something that seems like it should have a default value out of the box didn’t, so I’m concerned that maybe part of the DB migration didn’t take. If so, is there a way to fix this without losing the projects we’ve created?
