attempting to access openproject - connection refused

Added by cliff steinkraus over 10 years ago

I have limited experience with Linux and Unix; now using a Mac. I followed the directions per the installation guidelines but am getting ‘Webpage not available’ when entering http://(my local IP):3000 . telnet localhost 3000 returns : ‘Trying ::1… telnet: connect to address ::1: Connection refused Trying 127.0.0.1… telnet: connect to address 127.0.0.1: Connection refused Trying fe80::1… telnet: connect to address fe80::1: Connection refused telnet: Unable to connect to remote host’
Apache is running
postgresQL is installed
OpenProject and plugins are installed.
127.0.0.1 returns ‘It Works!’ so the server seems to be connected but …… this is where I get lost, LOL.
Again, limited knowledge.
FYI, I am with a non-profit organization, and I chose open source because we have little money and a lot more time.
Any help would be appreciated. - I did a search but did not get any results for my issue, hence the new thread.
Thanks,
Cliff Steinkraus

Hi Cliff

Can you tell us a bit more about what you have done

which instructions did you follow ?
did you install openproject in the root of apache or as a sub site ?
when you tested on port 3000, what rails web server did you start (the instruction used )

(apache will work on port 80 not port 3000)

soon there will be an automated install, so OP will be perfect for your org.

cheers
Brendan
