Hardware/Virtual Machine requirements for Production installation

Added by Rajesh R Nair over 10 years ago

Hello,

Could someone share minimum hardware/virtual Machine requirements for a production installation. (Like harddisk space and memory). I am using RHEL and OpenProject version 3.

Also, what would be best recommended values for 100 concurrent users.

Regards
Rajesh

I cant answer your question but will tell you we run OP visualized on KVM. We have < 15 people using it but we are using heavily in a very active development environment with many project used to organize development.

Initially we only ran with 8 Gig memory, 2 CPU’s and 2 Gig ram. It ran great.

We added source source repositories to OP and thought it might grow fast to fill up the 8 GIG. Just because I do not want to deal with this issue I increased the disk space to 40Gig. I added an extra CPU too.

Looking at the daily CPU usage they CPU hardly works. The disk is still under 8 GIG and 6 months of heavy use.

Do you really mean 100 concurrent users? ( all hitting enter the same time?) or do you have 100 users defined and maybe 10 will use it concurrently? Is your users updating work packages or doing queries to list packages more?
