Debian Package with installation wizard

Hi all,

currently setting up OpenProject requires some some basic understanding of the RoR technology stack. A lot of users do it every day without problem. However, too many users fail. To resolve this we currently work on a Debian Package (Debian/Ubuntu) which will include a wizard. This wizard will guide you through the entire installation and configuration process. It helps you to setup the following:

  • Database connection
  • SMTP
  • SSL
  • Apache

The package will include all required dependencies such as Ruby, Rails and so on. We plan to have a beta version out in August. RPM packages for Red Hat, CentOS and Fedora will follow in September.
