Email Has Already Been Taken

Hi OP Team,

I just installed OP sucessfully, but encounter this weir bug.

I have just created a user, let’s just say that his ID is jsmith, with email jsmith@gmail.com

Due to some reason, I delete the user, which the user is deleted successfully

The weird thing is that after that, when I create a new user with the same email (jsmith@gmail.com)

The app respond with “Email has already been taken” while the user itself is already previously deleted isn’t it?

Have I done something wrong? It’s just that this kind of occurence might happen to anybody and I think it’s a bug from OP

can you please check in the database if the user entry still exists?

Yesterweek I was occupied with another task

Yes, the user entry still exist and I just deleted it. After deleting the row I can create the user back.

That means the delete query doesn’t work when I delete the user on OP

Is it because of my DB or OP?

Any information else I must provide?

Not sure if you are still having this issue as your post is two months old but you likely have to start the delayed job from terminal as mentioned in the reply from the following post: https://community.openproject.org/topics/1739?board_id=6&r=1819#message-1819
