Installing OpenProject as a Windows service

Added by Darius Truhlar over 10 years ago

Hi Everyone,

We’ve successfully installed OpenProject on a Windows server without issue following your guide at the following link:
https://www.openproject.org/projects/openproject/wiki/Installation_Windows

Has anyone had any luck making this rails app run as a service on a Windows server? I’d found some information at making RedMine a sevice using the following guide, but I haven’t been able to locate the OpenProject ‘server’ file to proceed with a similar setup:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/877943/how-to-configure-a-rails-app-redmine-to-run-as-a-service-on-windows

As it stands, it’s not very secure or manageable as an instance within a console. Let me know if you have any ideas!

Thanks,
Darius

Hello Darius,

first I have to say that I have no idea about running OpenProject or any other rails app on a windows system but I think you tried the rails2 way and OpenProject is a rails3 app currently.
Try to use this answer from the same stackoverflow thread.

Good luck.

Best
Ratzi

Appreciate the insight, Ratzi. I’ll look into implementing that!

Thanks,
Darius
