How to change a User status?

Added by Томица Кораћ almost 11 years ago

Hi everyone,

I’ve just started using OpenProject. So fire I can say I love it. I’ll have some newbie questions though.

Where is a User’s status changed? When I manage Users, I can see a filter which features ‘all’, ‘active’, ‘registered’, ‘locked permanently’, and ‘locked temporarily’. But where do I choose the status for a specific User?

Also, is it possible to customize User statuses? I thinkg it would be useful if we had an option to add, for example, ‘suspended’ or ‘inactive’ or something like that.

EDIT: How can I see if a User is logged in or not, and their time of logging in and logging out?

Hi Томица,

sorry for the late reply.

The status have the following meaning and can be set in the following way (if they can be set):

  • All - The sum of all users.
  • Active - Users who have registered and activated their account and who have not been blocked.
    • Users who have registered can e.g. activate their account via email (when the setting “Self registration” in ‘Administration’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Authentication’ > ‘General’ is set to “account activation by email) or be activated by an Admin (in ”Admin" > “Users” table).
  • Registered - Users who have registered for OpenProject but did not activate their account.
  • Locked permanently - You can lock a user permanently in the user administration by clicking on “Block permanently”
  • Locked temporarily - Users are blocked temporarily when they entered incorrect login credentials a certain number of times
    • The number of allowed login attempts and the duration a user is locked can be defined in the authentication settings (Administration > Settings > Authentication tab > section “Automated user blocking”).

It is not possible to customize a user status. You can however create a feature request (User Story) in the Wish List.

The last time a user has logged in can be seen in the column “Last connection” in the users table in the admin settings.

Best,
Robin
