How Can I install Openproject on WHM?

Added by Josh Rudzek 3 months ago

I have a VPS with bluehost and have root access. I have a client (account within whm) who wants to install OpenProject.  I figured I would have to install as root and then point a subdomain from their account to mine.  I went through the installation process of openProject and it installed the directory to /opt/openproject.  (I would prefer this entire thing be in the cpanel account but couldn't figure out how).  The question is how can I point the root directory of the sub account to the root folder for the project?  as example if the subdomain I created is in an account called stocksguy and i created a subdomain and postgres domain in that cpanel (subdomain goes to ex. projects.stocksguy.com)  How do I point that subdomain outside of the subaccount back to the directory in root?

I see it's been a while since this was discussed, but I'm curious if anyone has found a good workaround for this. Have there been any updates or plugins that help with this issue? I ran into something similar recently and was wondering if there's a better way to handle it now. Would love to hear if anyone has new insights!

If you need a reliable solution for hosting, ishosting.com/en/vps/rdp offers solid VPS with RDP access. I’ve used them for a while, and the performance has been steady without random downtime. The setup was quick, and the connection speed is good enough for daily tasks. Their pricing is fair compared to other services I checked out. If you’re looking for a simple and effective option, this might work well.
