Hosted OpenProject?
Added by Chris Were about 10 years ago
Does the OpenProject Foundation have any plans to offer a cloud hosted service for OpenProject?
Our company has started to use OP and it is wonderful. I have spoken to a few people about switching to OP, however they are often scared off by having to set it up themselves.
If the OPF has no plans, I might investigate offering a simple hosted service.

Hi Chris,
That’s great. Thanks :-)
Actually we are currently working on a hosted service for OpenProject. So teams that do not want to do the installation and maintenance themselves.
We are happy about everybody who offers services (hosting, consulting, development) for OpenProject. There are plenty of opportunities especially for vendors that specialize in regional markets.

Niels,
Any timeframe as to when the hosted service will be available?
Regards.
Steve
Hi Steve,
there will be a beta version somewhere around October/November this year. Do you want to join the beta?
Regards
Niels
I would love to be added to the beta list but need to get an instance of OP running ASAP.
Niels,
I would also like to be part of the beta list for the hosted OP.
I’m working to get my own instance of OP running (need ASAP), but the process has proved anything but straightforward. A hosted version would be extremely helpful.
Cheers,
M
Hi there,
my company offers managed OpenProject hosting (https://www.saasweb.net/de/software-as-a-service/openproject). That page is in German since we mainly focus on the German market but we could sent you information in English if you’re interested and your company is situated in the European Union.
Regards,
Daniel
We would also be interested in helping review a hosted solution.
Hi,
Is the aforementioned beta already running?
Can I sign up for it anywhere?
How does it work? Is it like the demo but unlimited?
I just started a student project that would benefit greatly from this software.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any possibility to run it myself (it can’t be properly installed on a webhosting service, right?)
So if there is any way to get a time-wise unlimited (well not to one month anyways) access to a hosted version, it would be fantastic.
Please let me know if I can get into the beta somehow or if there’s other ways I didn’t think of.
Cheers,
Gunnar
I’m also interested in a hosted OpenProject. Our company is based in the US. If I can be involved in the beta please let me know.
Otherwise if there is a company that offers hosting services let me know.
Thanks!
James
“Otherwise if there is a company that offers hosting services let me know.”
That would be nice, too. My host is (so far) a great big nope-ity-nope on that, but I keep lobbying them.
Their service seems to be available now: https://www.saasweb.net/de/software-as-a-service/openproject
I also just tested Bitnami’s offer: https://bitnami.com/stack/openproject
Works well.
Then there is also the promise of an upcoming service here: https://www.openproject.org/hosting/
Are there any other providers?
Hi all,
You can also create your own demo instance directly on www.openproject.com. An upgrade option for a full-service version will follow shortly.
Have fun :-)
Cheers,
Maya
Hi all,
the hosting option has been launched. You can create your own OpenProject instance here:
https://www.openproject.org
Here you can see the pricing for the different plans. Hosting starts at € 10 per month.
