Logging of Inbound Mails, where?

How and where OpenProject does log its inbound mail handling? We have enabled on one project inbound mails as described in the docs (https://www.openproject.org/docs/installation-and-operations/configuration/incoming-emails/). Unfortunately the sender gets no information about the processing of his mail (even with enabled OPENPROJECT_REPORT__INCOMING__EMAIL__ERRORS) nor any logging can be found on the server though outbound mails work and are logged properly in /var/syslog.
