OP on VPS- page load times vary substantially with occasional error...

I have recently installed OP on a remote VPS running Debian 11.  OP will load in a browser normally for a few page loads.  Then, on the next page load there will be a delay of 10 sec. or more, and then at times the loading will time out and I'll get this error message:

Your view is erroneous and could not be processed.
Http failure response for /api/v3/queries/1: 0 Unknown Error

Is this a problem with the VPS, my installation, or something else?
