LDAP admins by group?

Added by Tom Spettigue over 2 years ago

Hey all -

Your current LDAP configuration page is... interesting, to say the least. It doesn't seem to like my LDAP filters that much, and it'd be nice to be able to set who is and who isn't an admin based on group membership (e.g. something like (&(objectClass=person)(|(memberOf=admins,cn=users,cn=accounts,dc=example,dc=com)(|(memberOf=openproject_admins,cn=users,cn=accounts,dc=example,dc=com)))) would be a nice filter to be able to define admins, rather than some boolean attached to their profile. I think this is how most LDAP implementations do it.

Hi,

please feel free to create a feature request for the filter-based admin definition. I think it's a good idea. Please also report a bug if you think the issues with your filter are one. Ideally with an example. This way we can keep track of it and fix it.
