Upgrading a very old (3.0.11) installation

I've inherited a very old, but still operational, OpenProject installation running on Ubuntu 14.

What's the chance that this can successfully be migrated to a new docker-based installation?  I gather there are a lot of pitfalls in migrating the database, and that I might have to somehow work my way up through numerous intervening versions along the way.

I'm wondering if I might be better off just leaving it, or copy-and-pasting all the most important info into a new virgin install.
