Locked out of MySQL root during Ubuntu 12.04 Installation - PLEASE HELP

Good day guys,

I am stressed as whilst I was following the following installation instructions “https://www.openproject.org/projects/openproject/wiki/Installation_Ubuntu” I was locked out of root mysql account. Not sure how it happened though.

I cannot log into mysql with phpmyadmin with my root password. I have a whole lot of databases and cannot afford to lose them. I can however log into phpmyadmin with “openproject” but it has limited privileges for me to rectify this.

If you need me to post any config or log details here to assist, please let me know.

Hi again, no worries, I have resolved my issue and able to log into my root account again…. now to try get openproject going, which looks like a great package.
