Is OpenProject v.10 package available for Debian 8?
Added by stefano marty about 5 years ago
After migrating the DB to PostgresSQL, I tried to upgrade to V.10 on Debian 8, starting from here:
https://www.openproject.org/download-and-installation/
Debian 8 is not available in the "Select your linux distribution:" list, but the 8.repo
file is available here:
https://dl.packager.io/srv/opf/openproject/stable/10/installer/debian/8.repo
so I thought Debian 8 was missing from the list, but the packages were available on packager.io
After updating the apt configuration file, I tried to upgrade, but the last available version is 9.0.3, so I'm not sure anymore there are v.10 packages for Debian 8. Is that correct or am I missing something?
Thanks.

Hi Stefano,
Debian 8 packages are no longer being built in favor of the new stable Debian 10 being supported now. We have to drop older versions due to every distribution costing us. Debian 9 and 10 are actively supported.
Best,
Oliver
Hi Oliver,
I understand this position. Unfortunately I cannot upgrade this server to Debian 9 or 10, due to some legacy application not available in the new versions.
Do you think I can upgrade manually to OpenProject v.10 on Debian 8?
I could follow these instructions:
https://www.openproject.org/operations/upgrading/upgrade-guide-manual-installation/
Is it doable or will it be too complicated, considering that the present version 9.0.3 was installed from packages via apt?
Thanks again for your help.
This is a breaking change and should be added here > https://www.openproject.org/release-notes/openproject-10-0-0/
In my case manual installation fails. It would be nice if you or third parties provide a debian 8 package.
