Successfully running 3.0 on my Mac. Need help accessing remotely.

Added by Aaron Richards about 11 years ago

Thanks to all who have contributed to the forums in helping others like myself in getting set up. I think I’ve got everything running properly on my mac, and have even learned a little ruby on the way!

My next hurdle, and I don’t have any idea how to go about it, is to set up in such a way that other collaborators can access my server remotely. This is new territory for me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depending on your requirements, it could be as simple as navigating to the installation with your network IP address. Something like 192.168… or 10.0… instead of 0.0…. You might also want to use apache or passenger to make it work on the default http ports. That would allow you to navigate without using the ports like :3000.
