How to migrate from MySQL to Postgresql

I am looking for guidance on migrating an openproject installation from one RDBMS to another. First, let me say, this should be handled by an XML Export/Import feature through the application itself. Barring that, converting the database through an automated tool should be possible, but while the conversion was successful, apparently some data types were translated into strings instead of native types, throwing off the translation.

Please, will someone here with in-depth knowledge of the application or at least its data structure, point out the ways in which the MySQL and Postgresql schemas differ?

Hi otheus,

I have tried pgloader with OpenProject in our largest customer database without problems. Since we don’t use either special MySQL nor PostgreSQL functions, the conversion is rather straight forward.
