Prior to OpenProject 5.0 the Rails-based work package full screen had the option to create a delay when creating a “precedes” or “follows” relationship.
This functionality was removed with OpenProject 5.0 but ideally should be re-implemented.
**User story**
**As a** project member
**I want to** handle planned delays / buffers between workpackages that have a precedes/follows relationship
**so that** changes during the process affect all following / preceding work packages as well
**Acceptance criteria**
* When a work package gets a start an finish date and a follower/precedes relation is in place, I can define a fix buffer between the work packages
**Addition from enterprise customer (ticket 13569)**
_It would also be great to define a **negative buffer**. That would cover a lot more use cases and might be implemented with this feature as well._
