### Before filing a report
_Before you file a report, please ensure you are running the latest version of OpenProject and_
_have searched for similar bug reports._
### Steps to reproduce
Happened with ticket: <mention class="mention" data-id="68852" data-type="work_package" data-text="#68852">#68852</mention> _Please write down the steps to reproduce. Try to write down all necessary preconditions (what permissions do you have, are other users involved?)._
1. Log in as a user with permissions to create and share work packages in the HR project.
2. Create a work package in HR project.
3. Share the WP with users who **are not part of the overall project** (in this case, Dicle and Rosanna) and grant them **edit permissions**.
4. Verify that these external users can access and edit the WP (this worked until recently).
### What is the buggy behavior?
_Please describe the bug in as much detail as possible._
* Users who are not project members but were previously granted access now receive a 404 error when trying to open the shared WP.
* In the sharing settings, the WP still appears as shared with those users and shows they have edit permissions.
* Re-sharing the WP with the same users does not resolve the issue but they continue to see a 404 error.
* No changes were made to the WP’s configuration or permissions by the owner.
### What is the expected behavior?
_Describe how the application should behave like._
1. Users who have been granted access to the WP (even if they are not project members) should be able to open and edit it as before.
2. If something has changed in how sharing works, the UI or documentation should reflect that (e.g., an error or warning indicating the users no longer have access).
###
