Assigining global role to all new users / allowing new users to create projects by default

Hi,

My question is regarding creation the new projects by regular users. I have found the Global Role solution, but it needs to be assigned manually to every new user. I would like to allow new users to create new projects by default  or to assign them Global Role.

I have also checked the API, but it seems that it only "admin" can be assigned during registration. 

Is there any solution or workaround which would allow to do it?
