How to add an user as default to any workproject?
Added by Ed Straker over 6 years ago
Hi to all…
we need a solution about this problem:
we’ve a lot of programmers, in every place of Europe, but only a single IT Director.
Every programmer creates his workproject but IT Director wants to receive an email for every workproject creation/modification/update.
I won’t to ask to every programmer to put IT Director as a member of the workproject for to receive email about it, and I ask, if possible, to set IT Director user as default member of every project, automatically.
Is it possible? If yes, how?
Thanks
Ed

Hi Ed,
your IT Director can change the email settings to receive an email about any update in the projects the IT Director is a member in.
This is possible in “My account” > “Email notifications”.
Your IT Director can change the setting to “For any events in all my projects” or to “For any event on the selected projects only” (and then select the projects he / she wants to receive email notifications for).
With this setting your IT Director will always stay informed about any created, modified or updated work packages in the projects he / she is a member of. (There is no way to set a default member for new work packages.)
It’s not possible to add a user automatically to each newly created project. However, we recommend using groups (e.g. group “Developers”) and to add the IT Director to the group. Users who create new projects can then simply add the group and the IT Director will be added automatically with the group (and receive email notifications about any updates if the email notification setting is set accordingly).
Best regards,
Robin
Thanks a lot for the answer Robin.
It doesn’t help me (we’ve a huge number of projects, for every programmer in Europe) but if there’s no way, we could adapt us to this solution.
