Odd parent/child display issue
Added by jason southwell over 10 years ago
One of my users has entered 5 subtasks for a work package. When she looks at the work package list, the fifth item added appears above the parent and without the > subtask indicator. When I look at the work package list with my account, it appears correctly as a subtask of the parent item.
If the user clicks through the item it shows correctly that it has a parent item and if she clicks into the parent item it shows that the item is correctly a subtask.
What in the world could cause this to display differently to two different users viewing the same view of the data?

BTW, I have screenshots but won’t post them here. If the devs need visual proof, I can provide.
Hello Jason,
I created a work package with 5 subtasks but couldn’t reproduce the error. A screenshot would be helpful.
Thanks a lot!
Kind regards,
Hagen
Where should I send them so that they don’t get posted in public?
Hi Jason,
OpenProject is an public open source project so basically all bug reports are public. If you do not have a QA sysytem you can also create a demo instance on https://openproject-demo.org to create this screenshot.

Hi Jason,
another option is to make the parts anonymous that you don’t want to see in the public.
Kind regards,
Hagen
If I could reproduce it in a qa environment, I would just explain how to reproduce it. Unfortunately this is one of those things that one user sees and no other user sees, even on the same work package view.
The only way I can upload the screenshot publicly would be to blur out all of the text, which would make the screenshot basically useless.
I have cut this down to show only what I can. I’m afraid it might be too much to be useful.
If you need the full screenshots and can supply a private drop location, I’ll upload.
