Ressource Management ans Allocation

Added by Bert Zimpel almost 3 years ago

Hallo Community,

I am new with OpenProject and have used my installation of dotProject so far. I have installed the OpenProject as docker image, and it worked instantly.

Now I do my first sample projects and figure out that there are some features missing. Looking at the reference companies I figure it ma be because of my novice knowledge about OpenProject.

Here are the things I am missing, I checked documentation but could not find anything:

a) Is there no human resource allocation possible in OpenProject? e.G. Person A works 50% for Project 1 and 30% for Project 2 / Task level. And with this a way to find overallocated human ressources…

b) As well I am missing allocation for physical goods as tools or rooms.

Is there any add on necessary for this or do I miss something? Thank you for your suggestions.

Dear OpenProject-Team, :-)

to add on Berts Tasks I like to ask to an other direction.

As an developer I like to get an api-function to read the /project/{x}/users to generate an overview who is on each project.
Then I can generate a query on workpackages due in next 2 month.
Depending on that data I can recalculate the workload by person towards each project.
After that politics take in to solve the critical path if s.o. is necessary to one project but only has 10 % in next two months :o)

Thanks the best for your answers :-)

Best wishes,
Marco
