Work packages status

Added by ELISA TURCI about 7 years ago

Dear All,
I would like to ask to someone if it is possible to assign 2 different status to a workpackage NOT closed (e.g. NEW and IN PROGRESS).

Thanks a lot
Elisa

Hi Elisa,

that is not possible. The work package status is tied to workflows and thus requires a single value.

From a technical perspective, the status acts as a state machine with a fixed set of states and transitions from each state (configured through Administration > Workflows).

If you have an additional semantic in the status, you can add a list custom field that contains the additional semantic in your second status. This can be filtered in the same fashion as status however will not be tied to any workflow.

Best,
Oliver

Dear Oliver,
thanks a lot for your answer.

I hope this option will be considered in the 8.0 version.

I found a solution:

it is possible if in the System Settings, you choose

“Calculate the work package done ratio with - Use work package status”

In this manner the status is linked to a % (progress) that you can assign in the “work packages statuses”.

Great!
Elisa
