Gantt Charts do not reflect tasks "Estimated Time", and other e.t. issues
Added by David Szego almost 7 years ago
Hi all, I’m just getting started w/OpenProject, but I’m a project manager by career, so I’m surprised I’m banging my head against this…
When I set an estimated time in a given task, I’m not able to set it in anything but hours. A bit annoying not to be able to set days, and let the Working Schedule calculate out the rest.
Bigger problem - if I only set hours, and leave start/end date empty, the timeline does not reflect how long I estimate the task to take.
It sets the dependancy arrows right, but they all start a.s.a.p. and go for one day. Even if I’ve entered 160 hours (really would have like to just enter 20 days)
I would have thought the most basic point of a gantt chart module would be to show you when your tasks would happen, based on how long you thought they’d take.
What am I missing? Do I actually have to set start/end dates for every task, and do all the planning and layout myself?
Thanks,
David.

We have the same problem, have you found a solution?
Thanks

We have the same problem. Do you think to solve this problem in the 8.0 version?
Many long Gantt chart is difficult to be read.
I created vertically flowing chart to solve large Gantt chart problem.
