Mediawiki instead of internal WIKI
Added by Bernhard Naegele about 7 years ago
I’ve worked several years with Mediawiki and I have also experience with the WIKI of Redmine. Is there a way to integrate Mediawiki instead of the integrated Wiki of OpenProject? I think that the Wiki inside of OpenProject is like the Wiki inside of Redmine and in my opinion Mediawiki is much better. Therefore I would like to integrate Mediawiki and use it instead of the internal one.
Is there a way…..?
I have seen that there is a patch for Redmine - maybe there exists something equal for OpenProject….?

Hello Bernhard,
there is currently no plugin or integration with Mediawiki.
However, with OpenProject 8 we plan to integrate a new wiki which will have a WYSIWYG editor and will be more powerful.

Hello Robin,
sometimes I was wondering why the easiest way hasn’t been used. There are field-proven Wikis outside there which are great in functionality and which have many plugins and all are Open Source.
Why inventing the wheel again and again instead of helping to improove existing software?
Hi Berhard,
well it is open source. You can get engaged in both projects. Your pull requests are highly welcome.
Best
