while versions in OpenProject can be shared across multiple projects, backlogs and task boards are always focused on just one project.
It’s therefore not possible to show work package from different projects in a single backlog or task board.
So, do you think - as a developer - it might be possible for someone with PHP (and much more) experience to alter that functionality?
One other solution could be, to set up a field in each project to make them become “common” so it is possible to select all items in that projects for beeing in a defined Backlog / Taskboard.
This helps if you have Mixed Teams running multiple projects each and lets them hold the overview if they have hundreds of work packages.
Do you know if anybody made something like that as a “feature request”?
And last of my questionary: Do you have favorit sites you want to share for getting an overview how I may develop OpenProject some day and also getting into details?
we use mainly Ruby on Rails and AngularJS to develop OpenProject.
Experience with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript would be good to make changes to the backlogs plugin.
If you plan to develop a plugin or a feature for OpenProject, feel free to take a look at the developer guidelines.
We welcome community contributions - especially when they are useful for other users as well.
There is a similar feature request to what you describe: .
thank you very much for your info about Feature #22319
This is almost what I meant and will work for us :-)
I don’t know if I’ll have time to go into Ruby early enought, so I can’t tell if i’ll create any plugin.
At the moment I try to use the API V3 to get some data from OpenProject for a Dashboard.
I'm new to using Openproject and am impressed overall. Is the issue mentioned above still extant?
I ask because the inability to create a mixed project Scrum is a severe limitation for a small company where developers jump rapidly across projects to complete their workloads.

Hi Robin,
thanks for your quick answer!
First at all: Are you developing OpenProject?

Many thanks for your help :o)
Best wishes from Kehl,

I'm also looking for this. The mentioned feature page doesn't exist any more. Can a board span multiple projects now?
I am also interested by this feature , do you have any updated info on this feature ?
