Ambiguity in Roles Assignment

Added by Junaid Abdul Jabbar over 7 years ago

Hello,

I have assigned “Reader” role to a specific user on a specific work package however all the other work packages are also visible to that user, principally the other work packages should not be visible to that user.

How can this be resolved ?

Hello Junaid,

the permissions associated with a role (such as “Reader”) always work on a project level, not based on individual work packages.
This means you can only decide whether a user should be able to see, edit etc. work packages for all work packages in a project.

To hide some work packages from a user, you need to move those work packages to a separate project (where the user does not have permissions to see them).

Best,
Robin

Robin,

Thanks for your reply, I understand about the separate work project thing. But this results in many different work packages which sometimes become very difficult to handle.

So is there any way around ? customization or something else ?

Junaid
