Reporting Bug on a Specific App Version

Added by Osama Sayed almost 8 years ago

So, I see that the notion of “Versions” in OpenProject is really equal to Sprints; or am I wrong? In that case, when reporting a bug, how do I, as a tester, indicate which version of the app have I found this bug on, and not really which sprint did I report it in?

Hi Osama,

first, thanks for your post and your interest in helping us track down bugs! It is very appreciated.

if you report a Bug, we have a custom field attribute Bug found in Version that allows you to denote in which version you found the specific bug or regression in.

Please, only ensure that you assign Dev team to the bug so we get properly notified. Not all members of the team have all notifications in the project enabled, so by assigning us all explicitly, you will get heard.

By default, we appreciate you to either report new bugs in the next patch release version (currently 7.0.3) or in the bug backlog. It does not matter which one, we will schedule the bug appropriately. Due to our timing in patch releases, we often shift bugs from one version to another - e.g., today, we pushed most out of 7.0.2. due to the pressing issue of

Best,
Oliver
