Managing backlogs across multiple projects (that are subprojects) under the parent project
Added by N F over 7 years ago
I have created a company wide project. Under which I have various other projects that are sub projects and have their own workpackages.
Since the team is the same that will work across these projects I want to be able to see all the tasks that they are working on across multiple projects in a single view.
I added the versions under the main tree, and can select the versions from the feature/Task in each story across the projects I can see these in the individual project backlog but not in the main backlog where I want to see it…. hope that makes sense.
Tried searching but couldnt find anything of help… so reaching out here, maybe someone knows how to do this…
We are on OpenProject 6.1.3 (Mysql2)
Thanking you all in advance.

Really Can no one help me ? Can this be done :)
Hi,
backlogs are always scoped on the current project: Only the work packages in the current project are displayed in a backlog (even if the version is shared across multiple projects).
You can use work packages to achieve the desired effect (e.g. by adding the filter “subprojects = all” and grouping by versions).
Best,
Robin
Hi Robin,
Thanks for the reply. Yes agreed using workpackages is an option to get around but takes away the awesome drag an drop feature during sprint planning.
