Hopefully simple problem

Added by Jon Hoffmann over 8 years ago

Hey all - newbie to OpenProject here, hoping I am just too “new” to OpenProject to understand what I’ve done wrong…

I have a brand new install running on Windows Server 2008 (Bitnami package) and I can create users and log in just fine. However, when I create a project any work task is not showing text in the list. Even the demo project does not show text. I have attached a screen shot to describe what I am talking about. I tried exporting as a csv and do see data in the fields. Any help would be great. thanks!

Hi Joh,

I started working very enthusiastic working with the Bitnami stacks as well..
Don’t know what the status is on the Bitnami releases nowadays, but we’ve tried three OP versions running from a Bitnami stack and all gave problems. I didn’t find a proper Bitnami release we could work with.
When checking the forums the problems didn’t replicate in the “normal” OP versions, therefore were caused while creating the bitnami stack. The only solutions I got back was to wait for a newer release. I did that two more times but kept bumping into problems.

Now we are up to speed with Docker, this works great! Even updates can be run easily. (although I cannot fill you in with the technical details as I have a great sysadmin doing this for us)

It’s not an answer to your question, but hope it helps you make a decision whether to continue to use Bitnami stack or not.

Hey Jon,

we do not support Bitnami installations, they are a third party providing installers similar to our packaged installations.

Please see this page for more information on possible download options for our Community Edition.

Best,
Oliver
