handling task priorities accross multiple projects

Added by David PICARD over 8 years ago

Hi,

I manage a team of 8 people, working on many independent projects at the same time. I have to report on the work in progress to my hierarchy, so that they set the priorities.

I know how to handle stories for 1 project. But how do I handle this with multiple projects ? In other words, how to represent that ProjectX/task5 has a greater priority than ProjectY/task8 ?

Regards.

Hi David,

provided your projects are in some form of hierarchy (e.g. ProjectX and ProjectY are both subprojects of ProjectZ) you can filter in ProjectZ for “Subproject of [all]” and thereby display all the work packages of various projects in one place. You can then prioritize using the globally defined priorities (e.g. “Low”, “Normal”, “High”, “Immediate”).
A handy option is to either group by project or priority and then save this view to a query to allow quick access to team members (so everyone can see the high-priority items).

Best regards,
Robin
