Problem with Email notifications

Hello.

I have problem with Email notifications. The system does not send any notifications. Email test and information about resetting passwords are sent correctly.

What could be wrong?

OpenProject 6.0.3.

Interestingly, on the Enterprise version also does not work…

When will it be corrected?

Hi Janusz,

could you check /var/log/openproject/production.log and /var/log/openproject/worker-1.log for any log output regarding mail configuration?

I am having the same issue too. Anyone solved this? Password reset and email test is good. It just that notification are not working.

Same kind of problem, but a bit different. OP v6.0.4.

The mails are send correctly for the workpackages to a list of people, but with a long delay, ie about 5min. It does not come from our mail-server, we checked. The mail server transfers the mails immediately.

However for writing News it fails, because it seems that creating the new is waiting for a receipt (?), and abort after a few second (~10-15s) with a proxy error

The proxy server could not handle the request POST /projects/vision/news.

Strangely, when creating a new, the author got informed but not the others. And the “new” is not created. If we remove “emails notifications”, everything works, and the “new” can be created, of course without notifications.

The smtp configuration is the following:

For my particular “News” issue, I’ve followed the post
Adding

service openproject stop
openproject config:set WEB_TIMEOUT=3600
service openproject start

Now it works, the “News” creation is a bit long (~25s) but it works, I will try with WEB_TIMEOUT=60.

Ugh, I just figured out that I didn’t enable a periodic background job that processes mail.
See “Activate Background Jobs” in the https://www.openproject.org/open-source/download/manual-installation-guide/ for manual installations.

I successfully solved this problem by going to server and restarting Open Project. I guess there was a problem with cron-job.
