[SOLVED] Apache does not start
Added by Jörg Panthöfer over 8 years ago
Hello,
I have installed OpenProject for several weeks. Yesterday I noticed that it no longer can be used in the browser. Since the last time a few days ago nothing has been changed manually in the system. If the update is automatically installed on the version 6.0.0?
Starting The Apache HTTP Server…
httpd: Syntax error on line 353 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/openproject.conf: No matches for the wildcard ‘*.conf’ in ‘/etc/openproject/addons/apache2/includes/server’, failing (use IncludeOptional if required)
httpd.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
httpd.service: control process exited, code=exited status=1
Failed to start The Apache HTTP Server.
Unit httpd.service entered failed state.
httpd.service failed.
kill: cannot find process “”
The directory ‘/etc/openproject/addons/apache2/includes/server’ is empty. Likewise, the second include directory /etc/openproject/addons/apache2/includes/vhost.

Same issue here
I do suspect the same issue is at play here. Jörg, are you also running on CentOS 7 ?

Hi Jörg,
Rerun
openproject reconfigure
and during the Wizard setup choose to install Apache again. You can leave your other settings as is.
This should solve your problem as well
It works - thank you very much.
Great to hear. I’ve extended the Upgrading Guide for Packager with a remark on reconfigure.
Best,
Oliver
Just hit this error today after an upgrade, took down my entire server. Probably time to remove openproject, I don't trust the devs now. The culture towards users isn't right, evidenced by this and another similar issue I've had.
