copy entire project
Added by Mihai Badici over 8 years ago
Hello,
I’m using openproject 5.0.16 from some time.
We encountered a problem when copying a project ( it took longer as in older version and the copy was incomplete).
In production.log we have this error:
Encountered an errors while trying to copy related objects for project ‘39’: [“Work package custom fields is invalid.”]
How I can debug this? there are indeed some custom fields in the project, but should not be a problem when copy .
Also I don’t see an option to except custom fields when copy projects.
Thanks,
Mihai

We have the same problem: it doesn’t copy at all anymore (it worked before we update from 4 to 5):
OP pretends to copy the project but even after waiting for hours no project was created.
Any possible explanation? ==> It has sub projects and it has about 175 Work Packages.
Copying a simple, empty project works.
@Samuel: A related issue was fixed in 5.0.17 that concerns notifications of project copying. What version are you running? (https://github.com/opf/openproject/pull/4298)
@Mihai: Is there any other output in the production.log?
Please report a bug to us in the OpenProject project. You can use the following template: https://community.openproject.com/topics/6267
Let’s continue that discussion in the bug report.
Best,
Oliver
Hello Oliver,
thanks for the quick reply. We use 5.0.16 so we will update at first.
Ok!
Kind Regards,
Samuel

There are related infos in production.log but this one is the only error (how can I increase the verbosity?)
I run a git pull in the openproject folder and it looks the error disapeared. ( i tried to copy the project again). The copy still apear in projects list with considerable delay despite the fact the log show the copy complete.
Hi Oliver,
i can’t write any comment in the the OP Project (https://community.openproject.com/work_packages/23064/) - is this correct?
I’l like to comment on without having to create a duplicated WP just for commenting ;-)
We are really blocked by this bug, thinking of downgrading to the previous working version :-( (if possible?)
Thanks for any feedback, tipps, workarounds.
