Work package tagging
Added by Pierre Goiffon over 8 years ago
To regroup related tickets, you can use the category field… But you need to set up a defined list, this is not very flexible.
The goal is to be able to get very quickly a list of all tickets related to a particular subject, a specific feature for example. For now I’m using relations between tickets to be able to navigate from one ticket to another, and wiki pages that I need to update myself (list of all references using the ##nnnn notation). The wiki page thing is a pain…
In Redmine I was used to create parent tasks (not as flexible but does the job), but I can’t in Open Project as parent tasks are used for the backlog view…
Other bug trackers (likes issues in GitLab for example) gives the possibility to associate tags with a ticket. You can add them directly in the ticket, and you can add as many as you want.
And those tags appears in any ticket list view, and can be filtered very easily (clicking on a tag or via a tag cloud).
I would love to have that in OpenProject !

I agree.
This works in JIRA and Azure DevOps.
+1 labels field in jira is super useful. Missing it a lot in OpenProject!
Hi guys,
we have on the roadmap an API to update custom options (multi-select custom fields) on the fly from the frontend. This would solve the tagging issue since you would then be able to dynamically add elements to the available options from the frontend.
Best,
Oliver
